Theory
Nutrients are the components of every food that our bodies utilize. Nutrients come in various forms, including carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, vitamins, and minerals. Different kinds of food contain different nutrients.
Prior to reducing fat, sugar, and salt intake, we need to understand more about the types of foods that these ingredients may be included in. The largest issue arises when these substances are concealed in other foods, such as meat pies, cookies, crisps, sausages, soft drinks, and so forth.
Fat is necessary for human survival and is a vital component of our food. However, eating a lot of fat is unhealthy. There are different types of fat. Bad fats are the saturated fats, found in animal products like red meat, butter and cheese.
Friendly fats are the unprocessed fats found naturally in foods like nuts and seeds, olives, avocados and oily fish, including tuna.
When food is cooked, its structure changes. It can change the vitamin and nutrient contents of food. Nowadays much of the basic food we eat — meat, fish, fruit and vegetables — is grown using chemicals and additives.
